While drug and alcohol addiction has reached epidemic levels, effective treatment for the disease has become scarce. Most programs and treatment methods create tiresome revolving doors. For those struggling with addiction and alcoholism there are few successful, long-term solutions.

110, Inc. was formed to begin to try and change this. We opened up No. 16 in hopes that a revolution in sober living would take hold in the recovery community. No. 16 is based on the principle that alcoholism and addiction are spiritual diseases manifested in the mind and body. Unless the spirit is treated, the mind and body cannot and will not recover.

What is the solution? The solution for us was the 12 Steps of AA as laid out in the book Alcoholics Anonymous. This requires active work, committed selflessness and the willingness and honesty to go to any lengths to recover.

So we asked what it would look like to build a sober living community based on these steps and the results have been, well, revolutionary.
